HARRIS COUNTY – Six days after 81-year-old Samarie Bellows was found dead from a gunshot wound at a senior living apartment complex in Harris County, her daughter was arrested for the crime.
On Wednesday, D’Juana Valien-Nwaokocha, 58, was booked in the Harris County Jail for the murder, Sherrif Ed Gonzalez announced.

The victim was found by her son after she hadn’t been answering his phone calls. Along with the gunshot wound, her body showed signs of trauma.
It is unclear at this time why Valien-Nwaokocha might have shot her mother.
