Hot, humid & hazy today, severe weather threat tonight. Here's what you can expect ~Caroline
Trying to find the positive in today's forecast is tough - it's pretty gross outside. We have smoke that has moved in from Central America that is causing a haze across the city. Temperatures are climbing to the lower-90s. With the high humidity our heat index will range from 98-103° this afternoon. The mosquitos are also very active.
Tonight we have a severe weather threat. Between 10pm and 2am a cold front moves through SE Texas. This front brings a severe weather threat specifically for large hail, so if you can park your car in a garage or under covered parking tonight I would certainly recommend that. The greatest threat for severe storms is north of I-10.
While Friday is still warm in the mid-80s, the humidity will be lower so it should feel much nicer. You'll notice the lower humidity most Saturday morning as we start the day in the 60s and only warm to the lower-80s.
Heads up for Mother's Day we are expecting widespread showers and storms. We have a flood threat Sunday and Monday.
Have a great day!
