Putting our Houston plumbers to the test at the second annual Plumbing Olympics

HOUSTON – Plumbers. They fix the leaking pipes, broken sinks, and blocked toilets in our homes saving the day, every day. But April 25 is a special day for our home heroes, it is National Plumbers Day.

To celebrate our Houston plumbers, John Moore Services hosted the second annual Plumbing Olympics. Five teams of plumbers from across Houston battled it out in a test of strength, craftmanship, speed, precision and agility. From caulking toilets to racing with water heaters, only one team could take home the gold.

John Moore Services CEO and Owner, Don Valentine said the event is about bringing honor and attention to the trades.

“Not only because it’s a great career, but because of the people... You’ve got to have the skills for sure. You’ve got to be licensed for sure. But you also have to have the heart of a helper. These people are helping other people every day. What a job. What a job where you get to be the calvary wearing the white hat, coming over, and saving the day. It’s about having fun today, but it’s but it’s more about bringing attention to our needs. Our reliance upon the trades and bringing out the opportunities people have in the trades,” Valentine said.
